The recent downturn, albeit a bit brutal, is at least in line with historical seasonal patterns where the middle of the year tends to be weak in terms of yield.
Sell in May and go away? Apparently some sell side analyst and strategists have already turned this phenomenon in to a contrarian issue. It’s too obvious and Hedge fund positioning is on the low side. In stead of sell in may and go away you should stay and probably buy some more.
