European Equities

“In last 12 months European investment funds bought almost €80 bn worth of equities. (i) This level of buying puts them back to the pre-sovereign crisis amounts we saw in 2010/early 2011 but not back to the buying in the original cyclical pick-up back in 2009 and early 2010 when purchases were running at over EUR150 bn. (ii) While investors have started tentatively to buy shares again their overall allocation to equities in European funds remains low at about 28 % versus about 40 % for bonds.” (Goldman Sachs)
